Vocalizing is an alternative, obscure and concretet way to touch the unknown and hostile
After our hibernation period, following the death of Michel, oracle is slowly moving towards a possible future through the kind support of a 5 months residency at Morpho.
During our residency we proposed to use the oracle practice to forage sensual information in public as well as in telepathic space. What information is unearthed via vocal readings that are invisible to the eye and ephemeral in their essence? Could readings of these spaces change the idea on how they could be used?
Listening to silent or unheard voices that are present in spaces changes us as the practitioners, but also has an impact on these spaces themselves and their public use.
Telepathy allows for connection through distance and another perception of the world we live in. What futures make themselves possible, if we consider past, telepathic, silent or silenced voices?
As giving oracle agency of themselves we moved between intended proposal and allowed things to develop organically.
We opened our studio to vocalists in and around Antwerp, sharing our practice, sharing voices and stories. A soft feeling of new community is sprouting.
The oracle practice was used to answer questions of urgency and opening up fields of concerns. Knowledge was accessed and created through practice.
Telepathically we connected to our dead and dying, as well as our mothers, as archetypes, as mother earth, as blood relations with all their potencies and complexities.
These 5 months were a beginning.
Now the future can take us.
We keep on listening.
And voicing.
